  When my youngest was first born, we needed a special compounded medicine to lessen his acid reflux. I was happy to bring my prescription to our local pharmacy, MedPro. During one of our refills, our pediatrician ordered half of the normal amount, since we were getting close to not needing to use it any more. The pharmacy told me it would be filled within 15 minutes. When I went to pick it up 45 minutes later, it had not even been started yet. I was told that the doctor had written the prescription wrong and they needed to check with me about the amount I needed. I confirmed that it was written correctly after calling and speaking with one of the nurses from my pediatrician's office. They asked me to wait in the parking lot while waiting for the prescription to be finished. I proceeded to wait for another 30 minutes with my newborn and toddler in the car while the pharmacist was having a cordial conversation with a woman inside the store. When I drove back up to the window 30 minutes later, it still had not even been started. I had now waited much longer than promised initially, and my newborn was hungry and screaming. I refused to leave the window this time without the completed prescription, as they would be closed for the next few days for Thanksgiving. When it finally was filled, I noticed that the price had gone from $45 to $60! I asked what the price difference was and the pharmacist told me that it was always $60. I had filled this same prescription numerous times before for only $45. After discussing this, he decided to adjust the price "this one time". When I got home, I took the bottle out of the bag only to realize that he had charged me FULL PRICE for HALF the amount of medicine! When I called, he said, "it may be half the amount of medicine, but it still takes just as long to make it". I stated that we do not pay for medicine based on how long it takes to make... we pay for the quantity of medicine received. I had a conversation with my pediatrician about this much later and he said that he wished he knew I paid $45... he said that most places only charge $30 for the full bottle and $15 for half. I thought I was helping our city by filling this prescription at our local pharmacy. Little did I know, I was spending time, energy, and hard-earned money run by a pharmacist that has no morals.
